Apologies if this has been covered before but I can't find anything relevant after many searches. I will be renewing the belts over the next week or so and thought I'd get the Desmo alert off the screen in the meantime. I have managed to work my way through 95% of the Melcodiag process. I have the licence (Came through within an hour of application) and have now managed to get it connecting with the bike. When I applied for the licence I left the NO tick boxes ticked for OIL and DESMO. When the mouse is hovered in that area a help box pops up giving some info regarding the boxes but I find it difficult to understand - it talks of first tick and second ticks but theyre labelled YES or NO Once I received the license I pasted the LIC file into the Melco file as instructed. Sadly this doesnt seem to activate the DESMO RESET button. Ive noticed that writing a report (front page button) generates a new file called MELCO DEBUG within the Melco diag file. SEE PIC 2. This originaly showed that the LIC file wasnt seen and the last line in the file said NOT REGISTERED. Changeing the DESMO to YES and clicking the WRITE REPORT button again now gives LIC FOUND and REGISTERED on the bottom line. Tragically this still doesnt seem to enable the DESMO SERVICE button either, Anyone any ideas? Anyone explain the instructions in the second pic? It feels like I'm one click away from success, but the frustration is mounting Anyone got an OBDSTAR for sale? If you have got this far my apologies and thanks for any suggestions or explanations !
Check your PM. Historically Melcodiag did struggle clearing service lights. @Derek may be able to assist with an Android based Multistrada diagnostic program.

Thanks again for your time and suggestions. Sadly I cant find any current info about this. Last post in the conversation you linked to, was 2014. Theres some conflicting details around too. Some saying it should work with resets, others saying it won't on a 2014 MTS. Having now suffered frost bite in my unheated garage and battled for some hours with a laptop thats suddenly developed a few non functioning keys, I've lost the will to live. I've bit the bullet and ordered a commercial tool that the seller states will work with my MTS (Or it goes back!). Its the icarsoft MT Ducati device. If it does work, I'll post up a review. In fact if it doesnt I'll do the same thing. Thx Bob
Have you watched the video? They could not get it to work. It is possible it may work with bikes using the IAW5* family ECU but not the later M3C and Melco ECUs.
There are a number of resellers touting these. I had been in contact with Albionshire Diagnostics (Seller not the manufacturer) last week. My question was answered in an hour or so. I explained that a few of the reviews had problems with models that were shown on the list. Seller said they have had a few models that didnt work as they should but if you send in the data logs they will pass to manufacturer and get a fix or your money back. Their ebay feedback is pretty impressive at 99.8% and they have a good reputation for resolving problems. Plus free updates - no future charges.
