Hi, I am rebuilding the clutch having replaced the seal behind it on my 1984 MHR and cannot find anything in the various manuals that confirms what torque setting the locking ring that retains the clutch outer housing should be set at. My reading of the manuals is that the nut securing the inner clutch drum should be set at 73 foot pounds but nothing about the one behind it. Any advice from someone who has done the job or has access to a better manual would be much appreciated. The new seal is weeping as indeed I am and I am wondering if this is to do with my current torque setting of 50 foot pounds for the retaining ring as it does not want to turn much further than this with a normal length wrench. Thanks, Nigel.
I happen to have the last (?) workshop manual for the bevels ie 900 replica / Mille replica. It says 98Nm. Hope this helps
Did you find the torque for the inner nut M52x1,5mm. Look here...... http://forum.bevelheaven.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5256&sid=9248166be754c42cf22b4b22104fafea
