Hi not a Ducati but nice detail anyway.. Wife’s Mini John Cooper works wheels need a refurb.. Any advice appreciated, will strip to base Metal but would ask for what to do from there? Spray in a can? Or do it by the gun? Any idea what manufacturer paint to go with? Is undercoat req? And if so what? I’ve tried to research the colour but no luck so far, however it’s not critical to us tbf.. Many thanks x
Whatever you choose to do, wet paint or powder coat, the bare alloy wheel will need some anti corrosion/passivation preparation. Andy
Yes was doing that, but no time for powder coat really.. no spare wheel etc and waiting list at powder coating shop.. x
If you are spraying you need some etch primer https://refinishsystems.com/product...MI3MnHuKSf3QIV7LDtCh0yywK9EAQYASABEgI1ufD_BwE It might be cheaper at Halfords with your card?
You need to protect the bare aluminium with something that inhibits oxidisation before painting or powder coating. Any decent automotive paint supplier with have something in a rattle can or bottle. Andy
That is great for ensuring paint adheres to what you are painting but it doesn't have any anti corrosion properties. Have a chat with your local friendly paint sprayer. Andy
