I recently decided to convert my Biposto to a Monoposto. I wasn't prepared to shell out a grand for an original seat fairing and I'm generally a fan of Chinese products so I ordered one via AliExpress. I chose one already painted in red. The difference in price versus an unpainted one was only 18 pound so I felt there wasn't much to lose. If the paint is crap I'm only 18 quid in the hole. The fairing cost me £88 including delivery. As I buy quite a few things from there I'm an elite member and get a discount on everything I buy. The regular price was just over £100 I think. It took a while to get here, much longer than usual but get here it did. The quality is actually very good, it's thick, it's straight and the paint job isn't bad at all. The colour is a little off but so are 2 of the OEM fairing panels I have. It's close enough that I'm happy. The threads have brass inserts and all the holes are in the right place. No modifications were needed. I didn't have the mono seat latch bracket but some simple spacers did the trick. Rear light went straight in, so did the seat and hinge. The Biposto vent meshes also fit and I made the upper mesh from a sheet. All in all it took me an hour and a half from start to finish. That included changing the front indicators as well as I broke one recently. After 31 years they became very brittle. Again, AliExpress to the rescue. 7.99 for two. Straight replacement with wiring and bulbs already fitted. Final fitment is pretty good. The area around the airbox could be slightly better but the OEM fairing didn't fit 100% either. I give it the thumbs up. It's a good alternative and not just for the price. It's simply good enough and you'd have to look very closely to see a difference to an OEM seat unit.
