Yes, marvellous that. So what that means is that they are happy not to do the right thing, the thing they think is best for the country if it might affect their hold on power. So what are they for then? Self-perpetuation? It also means that they don't think themselves capable of explaining their policy. How spineless are these people?
No. It's a bit like any company that reduces its services always starts to explain them by the phrase "In order to serve you better...."
If reducing the speed limit is for pollution why dont they concentrate on getting all the badly parked/abandoned cars off the road that lazy people with drives cant be arsed to park on or who's visitors are to lazy to park on etc.The amount of cars where i live that are permanently holding up traffic on busy roads and causing you to constantly stop and start is crazy, you could probably cut millions of tonnes of emissions a year by cutting out the constant stop start of traffic.
I expect the authorities look on them as a cost-effective traffic calming measure. You seem to think that the powers that be want traffic to flow smoothly, whereas they spend millions trying to ensure that it doesn't. Remember, stationary traffic kills fewer people.
Agreed!!!!!!!!!!!! In my street everyone has a parking in their front yard of home yet almost no one parks there they all park half side-walk half road. Road is already 2 cars wide at a squeeze. If you have cars on both sides it effectively makes it 1 car wide, with two way traffic and no area to wait for another car to pass. Also side-walks are becoming useless. Yet no one gives a flying fuck. There are people here who are running car show room, only way I can call it. Guy has about 17 cars on his property and on the street with signs for sale all they time.
