Mot Stuff That Ive Learned....

  1. I had to get a plate done for my ST3 as the one that it had on since I bought it was full of incorrectly drilled holes. My local guy at V-Ten - who I try to support - could only sell me a legal plate and needed me to bring the V11 and proof of address. I checked the internet and had a 'show plate' in my post the next day. My man Moted the bike and told me that they are very tightly controlled on number plate sales and get inspected for records of every plate they've sold, who bought it and the reg number. The farce of it is that he had a copper show up with marked cop car, uniform and radio going. The guy asked him to make up a tiny one line number plate for his own bike. When my man replied that he could not possibly do that, the Policeman replied, 'Go on, I won't tell anyone' FFS. How the copper thought that anybody would be so stupid as to comply with that...

  2. Heh - all the normal sized plates ive got have got holes drilled all over them....no one has ever said anything on that front!!

  3. My guess would be that the copper in question did not want to catch your local man out. He was probably told by his superior to do a spot check, which the copper did : o )

Sometimes they are human beings, you know. Not often, but sometimes.

  4. I wasn't worried about the holes making it fail the MoT - it just looked crap!

  5. I dont really care - period - its just the stock plate that literally gets put on in the forecourt and then off again when it comes out...
