Motogp Cancelled

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Broduc64, Mar 1, 2020.

  1. ,,The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has resulted in Qatar travel restrictions being brought into force that affect passengers from Italy, amongst other countries. As of today, all passengers arriving at Doha on direct flights from Italy, or having been in Italy in the past 2 weeks, will be taken straight to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. Italy clearly plays a vital role in the Championship and in the MotoGP class - both on track and off - and therefore the decision has been taken to cancel premier class competition.,,

  9. This is getting stupid now.....
Have all the races in the UK, Sorted.

  10. Its the global media hyping it into insane levels of paranoia. This is a nothing worse than a bad cold - which they also cannot cure or stop transmission of.
The ONLY fatalities have been people with underlying issues. You statistically have a far, far greater chance of dying by suicide, the flu or by mosquito bite.

Note the Moto 2 and Moto 3 races are still on - is it just MotoGP bikes that are infectious or what ?

    Its utterly ridiculous.

  11. It's to do with travel restrictions imposed by Qatar, as Moto2/3 are already there testing, it doesn't affect them.

  12. It is still crazy. Even for the paranoid there is a two week incubation period, so anyone could have it and not know

  14. No it is not......
Moto2 & 3 where already in Quatar when the 14 days quarantine came in.
It seems within Europe, Italy has the highest rate of confirmed cornavirus cases, roughly 1/3 of motogp paddock staff is from Italy.
Coronavirus has a death rate of 2-3.5%, whilst "traditional" flu has a death rate of 0.3-1% do the maths.

This is all you have to do to make sure you don’t catch it. The world needs to sit up and take notice and isolate Peter Andre!
