Has a spongy front brake which couldn’t be bled. Replaced under warranty and dealer mechanic stated this is the 4th front Brembo master cylinder he’s replaced. He thinks the seal has gone letting air in every time you squeeze the brake. No Ducati recall announced so Letting you know if you have to keep bleeding the brakes
I'm having the same issue with my 2025 V4S. The master cylinder and ABS control unit have been replaced, but without success. After a long ride and a break of about an hour, the brake lever is so soft that I can push it all the way to the handlebar with just one finger. After moving the lever several times, the pressure returns to “normal.” Ducati doesn't seem to be taking this problem seriously; if a significant number of Multistradas have this defect, Ducati might issue a recall.
+1 on my 2021 V4s. Being A modern bike I was expecting brutal brakes but these wr like a victoria spounge. My ST4s with new master and seal kit on the calipers is rock solid! Too much pipework with the ABS etc!
Same on my 21 V4S, dealer has looked it in the past and bleeding makes little difference, seems that if left standing for a while air (?) gets in the system and they feel soft initially but after a few pumps then all is fine. I have got used to using the front a couple of times when first out and then they work and feel just fine. Even when the lever feels soft they do work even with the lever back to the bar, it stops VERY fast - I have tried it out! (just the once).
My multi 1200 dvt is much the same. They always seem spongy to me, but get the job done when needed. I have often wondered if this is engineered into the system to allow for ham-fisted folk???
Front brake was soft on my PP as well, but was able to brake really ok. Overnight pulling of the lever (zip tie) made it better, but the real change came after removing and re-installing the brake calipers which was needed for replacing the front tire. So, pushing back the brake pads as far as possible (and pull the lever couple of times to bring them back of course) seems to do the trick on my brakes. Now the lever is much(!) firmer. And it holds by now for roughly 1.000 km.
