Got caught out in a bit of rain Sunday. The bike started to miss fire and back fire. As I pulled up to a set of traffic lights and the rain stopped so did the miss fire. Has anyone else had experience of this? My first thoughts is ignition. I did struggle to get the HT leads off when I removed the cam cover on the horizontal cylinder. Just thinking that I have damaged it.
Its very easy to damage the HT leads. They were modified to a more robust type. It is very likely that cracked HT leads are your issue here. The bottom ones fail more than the top.
I had loads of bother with mine. Had about 3 on in 5 years. Always started playing up at the wrong time, like the Pyrenees or somewhere stupid.
Do you find its one particular lead that plays up? Don’t really won’t to replace them all unnecessarily.
