Might be a daft question @Stavrich but your not climbing onto the bike on the side stand are you ? Surely the bolt should stop it opening ?
Firstly, thanks @Simon Audi. @broke, if you mean using the foot rest to climb while the bike is on the sidestand, no I don't. While on the side I climb by raising my leg over the seat and then straighten the bike. But I can see your point "Surely the bolt should stop it opening" and I will check it out (wonder if the hanger bracket plate hole got enlarged). Question:- Do you have similar movement on yours as shown on my video? Knowing that will help me.
Update to my saga - Removed the stand. The bolt fits without any play through the stand "fork" holes. But there is a small play between the bolt and the bracket side stand (attached on the bike). I fitted a thin washer on the bolt (by the bolt head) to be able to squeeze the stand "fork" closer to the bracket side stand. Play has gone and the bike seems to be more upright, I think! But yesterday I went for a ride to a Ducati dealer just to check the stands and by luck were a couple of 2013 Multis looking for owners. I checked the stands and there was play on both but one had more play than the other but not as much as on mine. My conclusion, which could be 100% wrong , is that the bracket metal is softer than the bolt and the hole wears down (up?!? ) quicker than the bolt and hence the play. Your comments please.........
my 14 leans well over and it can be a bugger to lift up when loaded. I put a zip tie around the stop tab to prevent it going so far forward
@mikele - please post a picture of your solution. Is it safe or is there a danger of the stand folding back?
