Ebay show items available from the USA, but the delivery costs may inflate the price. Correct. You can however get the nut off with a 36mm socket and an extending ratchet like this. I know because I've done it...
We've the Wera setup in the garage a great bit of kit and fairly reasonably priced. For my WAW excursion I took no tools other than the factory tools wherever they are, but for balance I did take it in the back of my van so if I should breakdown I could have resorted to a breakdown service and from there self recovered. Where do you draw the line though in what to take. I think for next time i'll just add a temporary tyre repair kit some fuses and cable ties.
For range anxiety try some parts of Ireland for fuel stops, they're both every 10 mile or no where to be seen for about 20 miles into a 2 litre reserve light.
