Get this, a woman at my work didn't come in this morning because she said she had to comfort her dog through the eclipse and didn't feel it would be safe with the other dogs and doggy day care, plus all birds just fall out the sky when there is an eclipse.... I know I couldn't believe it either
:Nailbiting: it's the end of the world :Mooning: ............. perhaps Best in the far north. 98%. Christ.... Never thought we would hear you say that! You must be softening... Or soft... Or southern!
I was on the west coast of India in 1979, a little the worst for wear as it happened. One day when I was stumbling around, I noticed the locals hurrying around covering up all the wells with palm leaves. This seemed to be strange behavior so I tried asking what on earth they were doing. They were pointing up at the sky and looked quite worried and I understood something bad seemed to be about to happen. I got a bit caught up in the communal panic and was pursued-ed to come inside a house and the doors were shut. They all seemed quite frightened, and all I could work out was that something bad was about to happen, so I thought it prudent to go along with their advice to stay inside and gratefully took the glass of tea which was proffered. I did notice everything suddenly going very quiet and the normal cacophony of animal noises suddenly ceased and the already dim room became dark. My hosts looked absolutely terrified, and I was more than a little worried myself. After a short time my hosts left their house removed the palm leaves that were covering their well and business resumed as normal. So, I missed a great show!
it has it's advantages i am sure. you know, like believing you are the center of the universe just for starters. :Mooning::Cigar::smile:
