Cheers for the tip, you dark fucking horse you'
Land Rover have completely lost it with this. This thing just looks like a reworked Discovery, crossed with the Vogue.
Having had a Defender inflicted on me as a work vehicle for several years I cannot understand why anyone would want one of these outdated, uncomfortable, unreliable pieces of junk. Japanese vehicles are far more reliable, better designed, better made...
LR obviously thought that people would wait for the new one, and would then go back... Anyone who has driven anything Japanese in the meantime would never buy a LR product ever again...
The disco et el never score highly in any customer survey. Used a Disco 3 as a towing recovery vehicle for a bit. Easy to forget I was towing a double axle trailer until I braked hard!! Rest of time; meh.
My Disco 4 is (imo) the best all round vehicle I've owned in over 50 years of driving (I suppose I ave. 50k miles/year). I can't see me changing it before I turn my toes up. I do (strangely...so perhaps medication is in order?) quite like the looks of this new Defender though.
We did have a disco one in the household that i branded name PANTS from day one but to be fair it went all round europe with no problems what so ever.
I just love my Defender with all it's peculiar traits & perfect for pulling that trailer in the garden or on the public highway but it's never going to win any races. As for the japanese thing we have access to one & that is in the garage all the time.
An 86” Series 1 remains my favourite Land Rover, with a 1970 Range Rover as close second.
Spot on with the Rangie. Mine was Masai Red with Sandstone wheels like the photo’, though my 86” had been painted Bronze Green, seemingly with a toilet brush based on the finish!
Will be fine for those of us who don't want to buy British, it is made in the EU.
Britain is in the EU Bob?
Rather have this.
Great fun, but not much room for the Collie and sheep in the back.
Are they doing a truck cab on the new one?
Sod the pets/luggage/passenger.
Clip another fuel tank in.
Load up on tinned spam and gas it.
I wonder if it has more elbow room than the previous models. I banged my elbow every time I turned the steering wheel!
Yes, another grant to take work away from the UK, we should get out don't you think? The Nitra plant is having difficulties btw - and we are supplying parts from the UK
Helps if you slide the window open, or take the door top off.
Just specced one at £65k, no ta I'll take a 911.
I’d rather go for a Toyota Hilux (Somalia Edition) with hard points for 50cal &/or recoiless 105
