Spoke with my dealer yesterday regarding the 696 and by all accounts that will stay in the range until the emissions laws force a stop
Prices are wrong in the press release - should be £8795 for the Dark and £8995 for the standard 821. Not a big difference though! As per some of the posts above, I don't think I like the idea of a water-cooled Monster, the same way that I don't really like the idea of the new 821 Hypermotard. Although they've done a good job of hiding the radiator and hoses, it's still a 4V water cooled which is not how the Monster started out...
Actually, I'm thinking this is a good thing... because I rode an M796 in Italy two years ago and had great fun on it and was thinking of buying one, so this new model should make the prices come down!!
prices might even go up of the 796/1100 models as maybe they are the true last monsters..... Dom (owner of a 1100s )
