  1. I prefer jockney lol

  2. Thanks for that great advise . What’s your take on the back break issue ? Someone just replied to my thread saying I won’t have the use of my rear break ! That’s kind of worrying on a 150bhp motorcycle.

  6. Are you sure your names Mark, Dave ?

  7. Now you come to mention it !! I’m not sure

  8. My brake always worked. Not very well, but enough to slow and settle the bike and in extremis I have triggered the ABS. The best rear brake is usually engine braking by being in the right gear. As for using it on ice, well, I wouldn't. In fact, I wouldn't ride the bloody bike:poop:

  10. But at least I'll get to be an old Big Girls Blouse, just like you. Remember Frank Spencer saying "There are bold pilots, and there are old pilots, but there are no old bold pilots"? He was very wise, was Frank.

  11. There is very little engine breaking on a Mutley due to slipper clutch....... something I was reminded of when I last took out the 998.

  12. I think it could be immense skill and pure jaminess

  18. It’s just the thought of not having a back brake makes me shudder!!! Although I have always slowed down my bikes by changing down as you would in a car and slowly letting the clutch out to stop . I do that in my bandit .

  19. You'll get used to it.... the rest of us had to.
This thread should really carry on in the Mutley section.

  20. I never use a back brake, well, only to stop it seizing periodically :)
