When I meet for a ride out I like to go an hour early so I can give it a good thrashing at my own whim, then meet up and follow the pack once I have vented from the week.
I had a New Years resolution a couple of years back (following a trip to New York being ruined by kidney stones) to reduce my weight from 81kg to 70 kg. A friend told me about this: Couch to 5K - Live Well - NHS Choices Well, I lost 11 kg in two months and have never looked back. I now run 50km a week and my weight is a constant 68 kg. Live well and be happy !
Why ? You don't look at the mantelpiece when you're poking the fire. Plus, at my age, minge - any minge, is better than none at all !
My bucket list Buy a Ducati ..................................................................................................
seriously though.. 1, buy a ducati 2, trackdays starting with ron haslam at donny 3,european trip to my old base in germany 4, more BSB rounds and moto gp at donny 5, get pain free after my accident 6, but most of all enjoy being back on two wheels
( i may be wrong but ) i never really rated ( rocket Ron ) Haslem as much of a rider, i always thot he had a strange, unconfident, style..
may well be quicker than both of you,, and a damned site quicker than me to,, but that is not relevant.
I'd love to get to the nurburgring and get under 10mins. If Clarkson can do it in a car it can't be too difficult on a bike. As for training, if you want to be faster in summer, ride through winter without abs or traction control. It's free, unless you crash, and improves fine control and feel loads.
So where was your old base in Germany? Planning at least one trip to Deutschland in 2015, more likely two.
Celle just south of hohne , quality time spent in celle and nearby Hannover, hopefully gonna take in the nurburgring aswell, but not in under 10 minutes
I have visited Celle many times, usually staying at the Celle Tor Hotel in Gross Hehlen, while visiting Hohne camp (at Bergen-Belsen). Actually as far as the roads are concerned that area is a bit boring - the southern and western areas of Germany are much more fun!
Just going back as i havent been back for 20 years would love to see how things have changed , but you are right the roads are a bit boring , but the nurburgring will sort that out
