Hi All, Happy New Year from East Yorkshire in Lockdown 3 Got my 2020 Panigale V4S delivered December and manage to get out on it 4 times so far, once to get PPF applied (where they took these pics). Bike now has the much needed tail tidy fitted. Part ex'd my K5 and got a good deal on this, with extended warranty. I've had a number of bikes over the years and done a bit of racing (Hottrax - Modern Classics, plus a couple of races with No Limits and some Plopping too). Wished I'd had a shot on a Desmo Due, who also raced with us at Hottrax, where I also did commentary for 2014 season. I've also been lucky enough to have visited MotoGP at Mugello 3 times so far, including riding from UK once. What an experience! I'm definitely looking to try and get out & use the bike this year, living next to some amazing riding roads in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire. Will be watching club racing, BSB, WSBK and MotoGP again this year & attending as many as I can. If there's anything happening in this part of the world Ducati wise, I'm interested in hearing about it.
Always keep an eye on here - https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/forums/rideouts-events.29/ And you can always join the DOCGB. They have an East Yorkshire branch that arrange rides whenever possible
Alright Stu, welcome. How much was the PPF job if you don’t mind me asking?? I’m getting mine done in March and I think it’s ~£500. Not cheap. I only use mine for track days and recently had this paint job. Looks amazing close up.
Happy new year newbie, you forgot my bin picture we like them and it keeps me happy welcome into our mad house
@Mary Hinge That looks good and you've been offered a good price. I paid over £500 for all painted surfaces (not wings, front mudguard or hugger), but had 2 others quote me over £1k. I went for the XPEL PPF as it's best of the reviews that I've seen and I have a 10 year guarantee. Nice paint BTW.
I'd checked with a mate in the car trade and he advised what he thought it should be, based on car wrap prices, so I was amazed to be quoted ££££'s!
I paid £385 for Expel about 2 years ago, ceramic coating the parts that did not get PPF and the wheels was extra. Andy Edit : there was a computer programme to cut a full set of shapes available and mine was the second V4 this particular specialist had done.
I guess a bike’s more involving due to all the tighter curves.... I thought about having a go myself. Then I had a word with myself. All the PPF would have ended up in the bin and me on the phone to the experts
