It's a very beautiful building, I hope they manage to save it or at least most of it. I see the spire has gone https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...aris-france-stream-video-latest-a8871471.html
The whole roof and the main spire have gone. So have Old leaded glass windows. The building can be (Should be) rebuilt, but some of the contents are irreplaceable so I hope they’ve been saved. That’s going to be quite some jigsaw puzzle if they can find the shards of stained glass to re-lead.
Bad news, iconic building. I think restoration work was taking place...hope nobody was working without a 'hot work permit'!
I’m just so sad It’s a beautiful building and the stain glass windows are something else! Being inside I was mesmerised by the windows I’m so glad I got to visit I’m gutted
Such a shame a lot of fine crafstmanship..cannot even think how hard it must have been to build that with the tools they had back then.
I'm pretty sure with France being a secular country, that the larger historic churches are owned by the country so the tax payer would be paying for any rebuild? saying that macron has announced fundraising to rebuild
