Never mind the car, what’s the roast? We is ‘aving roast beef and all the trimmings tonight. Glass of red in hand. Cheers Bradders!!
Recently had the 4kg lump hammer out. I still have an egg the size of s golf ball on my ankle to prove it
One of the main jobs I needed to do done today. Thanks to @cookster and the WhatsApp hotline all afternoon to confirm my rads ok so good to fit Also decided to hammerite the rusty bits underneath, only surface stuff so treated, wire brushed and painted while I’m in there.
Also did some degreasing to start getting ready to fit the skirts and used what I had for mesh-fixing, no nails. Hold one bit in place until I can get araldite stuck my nuts, wheel nuts, in a container of rust remover and now no rust just dull look. So silver spray paint worth a go before I spend £100 + on some new ones
Meant to yes. I bought some ‘pucker’ Rust remover stuff for some of the underside bits and where there had been a rad leak at some time so left lots of rusted damage. It was shite! 5 minutes it says, then wipe and repeat if needed. 3 goes and it was duller but not bare metal, as it claims. So I painted it. And then left the nuts in a tub for an hour (15 mins it says if soaking) and it worked ok.
So,e twat has put a trolley jack or the wheel jack on the sill several times a mangled it, so rubbed down and painted. The point where the jack goes is painted hammerite: when that stuff is dry it goes nowhere!
Yeah, but you said about spray painting wheel nuts ?? Thats coming off as soon as the brace is applied ??
I put the mesh grills on mine. When I took the bumper off to fit them, amongst the usual leaves and crap was a birds nest (unoccupied) in one side and a dead bird in the other side. Came to the conclusion the bird had come home pissed up one night and gone next door by accident!
Another weekend, another bit of messing. I have an intermittent abs light in, and internet suggests replacing the brake switch above the pedal. Cue hanging upside down with my legs in the air and my head and shoulders q]squashed into the footwell. Done it tho, wont know if a success until I next drive it. Couldn’t get araldite at B&Q, so `Mrs B picked me up the gorilla epoxy stuff instead. What a load of shite. No contact fix whatsoever. Held in lace for 15 mins (5 min set. Time is the claim) and still wasn’t grabbing the mesh!! Bit of improvisation with some cardboard as wedges and some tools as weights and got it epoxy’d up....wait til to,orrow to see if successful! Did a bit of back to blacking in the trim, came up nice, and removed the wheel arch trims. Delighted the car is pretty clean under there and no worries at all. Also checked disc, loads left in those and pads so good to go Tomorrow, its refit bumper & wheels then start on the problem I have with the rear of the roof liner. The plastic clips seem to have dried out and broken, so no idea yet what I’m going to do with that....
