  1. "quickly mounted is the mother with the wrong torque"

  2. To be honest, what should happen to a wrongly torqued mother isn't what concerns me about this particular product although I can see the seller's point.

  3. Purchased a quality hard steel one 2 years ago with front and rear sockets in one for $40 Canadian , about 20 pounds , used it several times with my 300 ft/lb torque wrench , works great , I also carry it with me under the seat .

  4. Of the steel ones - does the guide that forms the front wheel socket stop the socket from falling off the rear wheel nut?

I've a cut down standard 55mm 12 point socket but still have problems keeping it square on the nut.

    Thanks.

  5. Thanks, been looking for best options for this tool and your choice seems the best option so far ...I already have the mahoosive breaker bar in shed from a previous toolkit :)

  6. I give up.

3 nr 3/4 breaker bar knuckles bust, 16 stone bloke sat on the bike, rear brake on, tyre nearly flat, 39 inch breaker bar with scaffold standard over and......... The rear wheel is just spinning on the concrete. Nut hasn't moved.

    Impact gun hasn't touched it.

  7. Can I ask what impact gun ? I use a Dewalt 18V XR Lithium Ion 320Nm impact driver and have never had an issue with either the 1200 Multistrada or the Diavel. Tried heating it with a hot air gun ? Andy

  8. A makita something or other. Rated to 390nm. Should have had it off no bother. Drenched in WD40 etc. Havn't put heat on it as I don't want to risk the paint on the wheels. I'll just take it to the dealer that put it on I think. I've probably spent a couple of hundred quid on gear to get it off. I kid you not.

  9. Where are you?

Couldn't shift my front sprocket nut on the GSXR a few months back no matter how long the lever. Bought this and it came off after about 3x2 second bursts.

If you're local you are welcome to pop round and give it a go. I'm Watford way.

  10. Check out his avatar... It says Edinburgh. I had to laugh!

  11. Ah, my phone doesn't tell me that stuff.

Still, the tool may still work.

  12. Aye, Edinburgh. Thanks all the same. Return flights to Luton would've cost significantly less. The slots for the retaining clip are perhaps a mm or two passed being fully lined up so if the nut has been overtorqued it's not by much I'd imagine. Ducati dealership put it on last.

Something must be up with it because the gun didn't move it at all and if it'd not been for the scaffolding standard over the top the bar would have snapped today.

    Cheers.

  13. When I first came to change the rear tyre on mine I had the same problem. So I took the bike to a local tyre fitting depot and they got it off using a great big feck off air powered impact gun meant for truck wheels. After that I bought the Clarke electric impact driver and it's managed it every time so far.

  14. It's off!

Bought a Clarke impact wrench but it wouldn't touch it either so back to the drawing board. - A more expensive breaker bar and a longer scaffold tube pushed all the way to the knuckle and had the socket turned down another few mm - as much as I dared - and still the wheel turned. Let all the remaining few psi out of the tyre, carpet underneath it and bounced on the scaffold bar.

When it gave way it felt like the bar had gone again and that's what I thought had happened.

    Thanks for the advice.

  15. That's what I had to do with mine. First attempt sheared the little square off the breaker bar. Didn't need to let the air out the tyre though, just ratchet strap the wheel to something solid (garage beam or through the front wheel too).

  16. Don't know if it's part of the problem but my rear hub appears to be missing a spacer.

  17. Mine was just too tight. Next time I did it, it came off fine

  18. +1 on the clark impact wrench, 6 or 8 seconds and the nut came straight off.....:grinning::grinning:

  19. An update in the event anyone may stumble across this. Many weeks ago I ordered the item in the link above. I have not heard a peep from the seller despite chasing. I have neither received the item nor had any response from the seller at all other than the original order confirmation.
