Show me the tax rise that is popular. But what you are essentially saying is that there is already a tax differential between healthy and some unhealthy foods. Still, they can triple the price of soft drinks if they like. In fact, I think they should. This is the real killer, it appears. The body sends signals when it has had enough to eat, but no signal is sent if you drink a litre of Coke a day. And that's an awful lot of calories. Why beer and not Coke? It makes no sense.
A recent study showed a link between diet fizzy drinks and increased eating habits. In summary, when the sweetener hits the body, it expcets sugar and produces the chemicals you would expect, but it doesnt get sugar so craves the chemicals its missing...sugar. So a diet coke can help over a coke, obviously, but it 'makes' the drinker eat the cals instead. Life living on water, carrots and celery. Awesome
If it says light, lite, low cal, low fat or anything along those lines it doesn't get into my shopping trolly.
Ive got more Hair and teeth then. For some reason I have a feeling Fin may resemble Slur from the Goonies.
