Back in the day ,end of 70 early 80s i went to live music every week. I can honestly say that Quo at Hammersmith Odeon c 1979 was mental. Firstly i was struck by coaches from all over the country. Then from the moment the lights went down, the place erupted. I was on the upstairs balcony, and it was going up and down i swear 3 feet. 3000 fans totally at one and in unison with their favourite band. As i mentioned earlier, not the most inventive band, but nobody else ever came close to what i experienced that night.
You got me getting my Quo vinyl out now, starting with Whatever you want album although my fave song is a quiet one, living on an island, fuck the neighbors
Great guy. I met Messrs Rossi and Parfitt at Buckingham Palace in 2010, as they were in the same investiture as me. When their turn came to be decorated by HM Queen, the chamber orchestra struck up an arrangement of "Rockin All Over The World". Sad loss.
Bruce Forsyth dodges another one, he certainly wont be answering the door to anyone with a long beard wearing a cloak over christmas.
Not a great fan but saw them at a BT corporate Alton Towers party in 2003 and they were superb. Really knew how to rock and roll, RIP Rick. BBC NEWS | England | Staffordshire | Alton Towers 'misled public'
For me they never really matched this track: ... however, this is one of my life's landmarks and I thank the Quo for that. RIP Rick Parfitt. I suppose we gentlemen of a certain age will need to get used to this kind of thing now.
