Oh no... I've got this far through the festering season without hearing that bloody So Here it is Merry Christmas. Now you've put it in my head. Cruel trick to play Fin. Naughty. Now trying to clear my mental ear with some plinky-plonk Carry On music.
I was at Knebworth in 1986 when Quo were a support act to Queen. Knew I'd seen you somewhere before Finm.
yip good times, a braw night in steavange the night before then back to the campsite for more mayhem. got my self pretty close to the front, just in the right place to get soaked in all the bottles of pish that where getting launched at beluise some. nice, quo where magic, big country where ace. queen superb.
Yep. Freddie's last live gig. Bunch of us working at the hospital in Gloucester hired a mini bus & I drove there and back. Good times. RIP Rick.
Went to see Big Country in Poole Arts Centre, 1983 I think, as a support act to some band I forget. A mate and his missus had a spare ticket and hassled me to go. Wasn't interested in BC. They were the in thing at the time but I was a young heavy metal snob and they were too "mainstream". Hung around in the foyer under protest until the main act came on but as the gig got going it drew me in and in the end I loved it. They were brilliant live and I fell for that atmospheric, bitter-sweet folky sound. Appealed to my teenage angst I guess and it was different. Chance still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck when I hear those opening notes.
