It doesn't, there is a metal/rubber seal/gasket between the 2 so it won't sit flush. I have put 5l of gas in the tank and left it over night over a bucket with kitchen towel in the bucket. If it leaks I will see tomorrow.
Checked fuel strainer, all good. Bleed carbs, need some new bleeding valves as they are rounding off. Changed petrol. Old had surprisingly little crap in it.
that's what I was trying to say politely :smile: - the gap you had to start with is worth remembering but some people might keep going until plate touches tank.. Same with many of the 'C' type clamps all over a motorbike that some people think have to be tightened until faces touch.. results are much worse though.
Redex, bottle is 200ml(I think, not arrived yet). Says will do 2 car tanks. Say average car tank is 50l. I have 5l in the bike. Therefore I should put in 10ml. But we think I need a good clean out so 20ml???
this is for fuel tank? - it's really up to you as you can't do much harm even if over suggested amount - not as important as bore soak though.
dont quote me on this but does redex attract moisture? if your gonna have it sitting unused for a while might do more harm than good. someone else will confirm. :smile:
Good news. Passed MOT today. Did about 5 mls there and back and hit red line. No oil prices n air box. A bit on air filter but that may be historic. Will tax in a couple if months to get my winter ride fix and monitor Cheers guys.

Only red lined on way back after Mr Mechanic said it sounded like all Suzuki's do. Told me to not bother getting the valves checked, said they should be fine. Considering when we were chatting before he said he was really quiet i was impressed. I much prefer these back street garages with the 1/2 nude calendar girls on the wall.
