Correct !! They were shot, so I replaced them and the slave cylinder gasket and all is definitely well this time. It's good to go out without the smell of burning oil! Nice easy job for a change. I might change the slave cylinder next for an uprated one, as this is my 1st bike where I use all 4 fingers to pull the clutch in. Cheers all.
The early slave cylinder used to rotate the push rod when the clutch was in whilst sitting at lights etc, this is what caused wear on the seals (it happened to mine). The replacement and later ones have a small additional 90 degree part which prevents the push rod rotating. Oberon ones are better for clutch pull
