Aye just saying especially on an engine that's already got a few miles under it's belt you will rarely find anything, compared to paper filters these are beautifully constructed, that doesn't make them necessarily better. I'm fine with them BUT THIS IS THE INTERWEB, so there will have to be a long discussion by EXPERTS using long words and complicated statistics to prove that a cheese grater has better filtration. I've cut open quite a few paper filters over the years and some of them inside have been utter shockers Pays yer money..........blah blah blah Drop us a line when yer up next
@ducv2 this is it. The threaded bit at the top of the T will get machined flat. Drilled and tapped to M10.
Surely you'd want it on the cooler inlet as that's going to be closest to what the engine oil temp is, no?
Hi all. It’s placed on the oil cooler feed line. TBH not sure it really matters but that’s how it is on the RS bikes. Price wise, don’t know yet. He charges £35 an hour and thinks about £25 in bits. He gave me the fittings and hoses so I could get it all mounted on the bike, chop the hoses down to size and mark it all up to get the angles right before crimping. Shouldn’t cost much more then £60 to £70.
Been thinking about mine, and checked it today. Oil temperature reads ambient when the engine is cold, but the water temperature doesn't go below 45C. Not sure what's going on there
Seems strange that... Could you have the wires on the wrong sensors? Hope to get mine back on tomorrow and want to check the oil temp readings in both warm up and race modes as they may be different. At least with the sensor not connected, they read different...
It shows about 5 bar at start, dropping to 2-3 when hot, but I believe that the pressure sender is not calibrated for an RS dash. Gives an indication anyway
Mine’s similar. About 6.1 dropping to 3 ish when warmed. Just cut the hoses down to size and hope to have it all done for tomorrow afternoon.
Got it all finished off today. Temp sensor seems to be working fine. Let it idle up til the fans kicking in. Checked for leaks and nowt found. Best bit though... £60 for new oil lines, £15 for the T piece, machining and tapped out to M10. The sensor only cost a fiver as well. Lines were made up at active hydraulics in Keighley in case anyone’s interested. Ian
I found it surprising how long the oil temp takes to catch up with the water temperature. Shows how long it takes to properly warm up
Don’t know why but both the water and oil temps stay within a couple of degrees of each other from 45 ( when the oil temp starts to register), right up to 92, which is the highest it’s been since being fitted.
