Is this the end of another fantastically helpful forum thread with all issues resolved? Update please, happy to help
My computer is broken. I have tried deleting Elise from the Virtual Universe Programme I've been running for the past 13.75 billion years but he just keeps on re-spawning :Arghh:
So.....here's the update......... I am currently trying a splitter cable for both case fans which is connected to the single motherboard header. The front F12 fan appears to be running at about max speed and the rear F12TC fan seems to be running at about 500 to 700rpm.........I say 'about' because the fan speed monitors I am using are all over the place.........even the CPU fan has been showing speeds in excess of 1.5 million rpm............... (.........I know that is incorrect because the PC hasn't attempted to take off (yet)). So I think I may have to revert to the rear TC fan running off the Molex PSU supply (wired as Chrisw suggested) and the front fan off the motherboard header......... A bit of a slight aside......the front fan cable wasn't long enough to reach the motherboard header, even with the splitter cable extension length..........but as the old front fan had to have the cable cut to release the damn thing from it's slot jammed by the PSU, I thought I would be a clever sod and make an extension cable from the old one....... ....and where did I find a 3 pin male fan cable plug in a hurry?.........I made it. I had recently smashed an old IDE hard drive ready for disposal.........the IDE pin connector part has the pins and a 'lip' at exactly the right dimensions to fit the female 3 pin fan connector.......so few minutes with a hacksaw, fine file and soldering iron had it done.
