Owning A Ducati

  1. @jase first thing I would do is disconnect the battery for five minutes, my 899 shit itself one day in Scotland on a really wet tour after standing in the rain all night, it went into limp home mode the next day, disconnected the battery for five minutes and the fault code cleared itself when I hooked it back up, no problem after that.
My 899 has been brilliant and it’s done almost 36,000 miles now, fit, finish and build quality is right up there in my opinion, when it’s clean it still looks brand new,..but I am super anal with the cleaning business ;)

  3. I had a map sensor go (both replaced) on my latest a year or two back but touch wood that’s the only problem I’ve had in a decade of ownership :)

  4. hmm 899
    changed out the slipper clutch
    fork seals
    petrol tank leak
battery died on me (my fault)
    chain sprocket
    cracked screen on tacho
engine currently being rebuilt due to plastic oil gear failing. everyone says to me its been a trouble bike

hopefully when it comes back i will get a trouble free 15000 miles, i spent so much on it i have to keep it

i bought a monster 600 as a temporary ride but i have to say its pretty disappointing compared to the pani

owning a ducati can be like having an Italian girlfriend, one minute the best thing on earth, the next breaking your heart

Imagine if it had turned out to be better than the Pani?
