I’d agree about the Touratech seat much better on the 1200 and DVT bikes I had the Air Rider cushion on my V4, which I think is superior to an Air Hawk as it’s one bladder and feels less wobbly. You can also add air or reduce it as you ride (much better than Air Hawk where you have to get off the bike to change it). https://www.roadraceandcustoms.co.uk/shop/airrider-medium/ It did make the seat a little higher so in the end I got the seat reshaped with some memory foam and I also wore a pair of Moto Skivees on my last European trip.
+1 on Saddlecraft. They can convert an instrument of torture into a featherbed experience. They can. Honest. I'll try and post a picture of mine, 2 inches higher on the front, 1 inch on the rear and full width where allowed. Plus gel x 2. Great work. Upt.
After getting sidetracked with stuff on the 750ss I am now ready to sort this out. Can you remember roughly how much they charged?
Speak to Les if you can and explain your needs. I think it was around £280 a couple of years ago but it was a major remodel. Width, height and gel x 2. After two years and around 8000 miles we have no regrets. Good luck. Upt.
Another shout for Tony Archer. Top shelf stuff but is knocking on a bit now and not interested in doing it much longer full time. He used to collect customers seats from a motorcycle shop in Huddersfield every Saturday morning.
Try five hours on this…… and it has the “comfort seat” I think I now have what is called “monkey bum”
9 hours on Sunday with just 2 short breaks on my GasGas 700SM with the standard seat. I rather fancy an Enduro with a Rallye screen added to the garage, but think it may have to be a KTM 500 exc and not a 690 enduro.
I tried them, They do a little but make you feel wierd. Problem is they work on the premis that you sit on you ass and you don't. Main contact is your thighs,
Almost relevant: When I bought my KTM, I paid extra for their comfort" seat. Trouble is that the comfort come from making the seat thicker and that puts me on tippy toes when I stop. risking losing balance on a very cambered road, I just took the loss and put back the standard seat - and that is fine.
I used these guys to reshape and add memory foam to my V4 Multistrada seat. It’s a big improvement on the standard seat but not perfect. They are great people but their ‘workshop’ is a bit of an eye opener! https://www.sussexmotorcycles.com/elite-comfort-motorcycle-seats.html
