I've had a search on here for this and found pointers to there not being a Ducati paint code for my bike but it requires matching. Is this correct and I won't find any ID on my bike or on a reference chart that then points to the exact colour ?
There are paint codes for all Ducati paint colours, though not shown on the bike. A paint code is no guarantee of a perfect paint match for existing paint on the bike.
Ok so someone like RS would be able to provide an accurate pointer but a good painter/paintshop could do so by having the panels to match.
The exact shade of the paint the bikes came from the factory with varies over the years despite them being the same paint code. There are a number of good reasons for this, but that is why it is better to go to a good auto-paint supplier and take their advice on the colour.
