Not sure how far you would travel, but I know a very good painter in Paignton. He is a one man band with a very good reputation for cars and bikes. He did the beak from my GS in a candy metallic finish for £80 - and he's done a brilliant job. I can give you his number if you want it.
I had 2 tanks done buy a guy in bristol on the same estate as louigi moto. One was dented to buggery and they came back like factory new for £300. Last month i saw a complete bike, again at Louigi Moto, painted by the same guy/place and the finish was no less than perfect. Lacquer like glass. £1200 odd though. I could get contact details to get a better idea if your interested, but have you thought about vinyl wrapping? A fair bit cheaper, easier to repair if chipped, and if you get bored quicker to change.
