£1500 buys you a rooftop hardshell tent for a van. Kit and cooking etc downstairs and a king size on top. Worth thinking about? I’m lucky to already have the van and have a tabletop on a pole and use the wheel arch covers as seats for eating. All removed for an airbed when sleeping. 2 ring stove, washing up bowl and my clothes hanging everywhere! I’m getting the roof box tent job in the spring. As you say though your young lady might prefer a few more creature comforts.
I have considered what you suggest and there is a company local to me who provides a central clearance for local owners who want to rent out their motor homes. It would make sense if we were looking at the odd weekend but we are looking at supporting maybe 6 rounds this year and probably the same next year. Rental becomes a challenge (and expensive) during school holidays. Now if someone buys my V4 Speciale, that would put a different slantbon things Andy
