Its not why you buy then though is it....economy has never ever been on the radar when it comes to a bike purchase for me.
Gents my point was that no one should buy a bike based on race results. Some years dominated by this some by that...I don't give a toss. Just get the one you like most or the one that budget allows. At this moment of time if I was to race 1000cc I would get a GSXR or ZX10, cheaper to maintain and shit loads of race parts. For 600cc must be the new r6. For looks definitely Panigale or Fireblade. For sound not sure, Rsv4 or bigbang R1.

If I was spending 20 to 30 grand on a bike that claimed to produce 214 bhp, I'd want to know I was getting everything that it said on the tin. Whether I "need" that power in the real world is neither here nor there. If you want 180 bhp you can have it for half that price.
