Lily, the tabby on the table behind the bench. About 2, a stray, rescued a year ago, of the four cats, all with their individual personality, became my favourite. A month ago she was killed on the London Road. Before Lily died, my sister got asked to re-home Inky, about 1 1/2, whose owner was up at Sue Ryder, Leckhampton, dying of cancer. Five cats would be stretching it a bit, so she was looking for a suitable home. Then, just before he died and she went to collect Inky, Lily was killed. So Inky could stay with my sister. I did the standard service of dropping in on Inky while she was shut in for a few days, must be 3 weeks ago. Anyway she settled in well. She's currently in an orthopaedic hospital (for animals, presumably) in Swindon having her pelvis reattached and pinned, and possibly her tail amputated. One supposes she, too, was hit by a car. I've just been texted it's going to cost upward of 5 grand.
