Hi all wanting to remove pillion back rest and i understand that i will need a blanking plate once removed, does anyone have a part number or know where i can get one along with a pillion seat cowl. Many thanks
If it's an 1260/X Diavel, yes it does. The Ducati accessory high-mounted tail-tidy that does away with the boot scraper thing and comes with an integral backrest and built-in tail lights. The mounting bracket forms the blanking plates that cover where the underseat tail lights used to be. I'd like to do away with my pillion backrest but keep the high level number plate mounting, as I don't like boot scrapers. But other than physically cutting it off I don't know of a way of doing it other than an unappealing Harley-esque side-mounted number plate. I've consequently learned to live with the backrest. It is handy for strapping a tail pack to, to I suppose.
Hi people ive now done a bit of investigating and found this which from what i can tell will replace the back rest. Please correct me if im wrong. From MSP motorcycle spaire parts part number 24715631A and 52910191B also found a utube clip to support this
