If it's a DP\Aviofibre part then it may have. One of my Aviofibre seats I bought new did have a part number but it should be different to a stock plastic seat part number. A genuine original seat should have two stickers under the seat stating the pulse order of the ignition and how to use the helmet loop lock, they could of course have been removed upon repainting. You should also have a moulded in clip to take the wiring in a genuine plastic seat. Aviofibre seats have alloy clips moulded into the base to do the same job.
Yours does look the same as the OEM one on the link if you study the pictures - including the diamond pattern on the ribs near the heatsert inserts = but as above - the numbers are usually on stickers - where and how is your part number applied as I can't see it on the picture. Is it moulded into the plastic on raised lettering?
cut out the damaged area, roughen the plastic / grp and add Araldite ( any epoxy ) filler,, smooth off ,, paint.
the clips for the electric lead are plastic and moulded into the seat. the numbers are raised and are under the lead between the first and second clips down. would not be supprised if it was resprayed, the others I have seen did not have "corse" sticker on the back and slightly different colours. It is not standard as the bike is a BP.
This is the closest I have seen. EBay item, 111523659380 Looks like it is genuine then. Would be a shame to respray it I think. Hopefully Ducati will come back to me with the paint code.
As above I would say that sounds like an OEM seat. Other manufacturers like ICI have colours in their range which will match you bike. Below is a PPG colour list as Ducati used PPG at times amongst certain others like Lechler which definitely still manufacture the red. Below that is the label for ICI Ducati Red for the later post 1999 models, this can be purchased as either a flat base colour for lacquering or as a straight solid gloss colour, which Is what I generally use.
Just had a nice chat with an Italian lady from Ducati. They don't keep a record of the paint numbers for the parts, only wheels frames and fairing. So its either pot luck, good judgement from a friendly paint supplier, a full re-spray or a £2.99 sticker.
