PMSL :) - Stoner dosnt hold back :)

  1. This debate goes on and on, and this is just the latest instalment. But it is funny nonetheless to have someone just spit it out the way they see it, with no regard whatsoever for sponsors, media approval or others.

You don't have to agree with him to find it amusing. He is right, but the boy just doesn't learn does he??!! If he could just put people down with a little tact and subtlety, and thrash them on track from time to time, he would widely be regarded as a riding god, and he would get the recognition he craves (and arguably deserves). As it is, he is just knocked for his lack of media savvy. Maybe someone should have just invested a little time teaching him how to communicate.

I for one will miss seeing Stoner ride, some of what he does on a bike is remarkable and amazing to watch. He rode that Ducati, wild beastie that it was, at 110% for years. It was brilliant to watch, but no doubt rediculously hard to do. You could see how stable Rossi and Lorenzo were on those Yamaha's at the time, and Casey was there with the throttle pinned, back end out, bike pumping, finger on the front brake to keep it squashed/turning at 60 degrees of lean. And he still beat them more than he ever should have been able to in that fight...

It would be brilliant if Ducati would offer Stoner a wildcard ride on Vale's bike the first race after his retirement from Honda. Leave it still painted in Red/Yellow but with just a 27 on the front....! What if he won? Ducati's reputation would be instantly fixed. Better yet if he did it on the carbon framed one he gave Vale at the beginning.....that black one all painted with the yellow 46's for Rossi's big debut.....

  2. I'm just grateful that there are sports stars around that speak their mind rather than all the usual bland blah blah BS in so many other sports.

I will never know the inside detail, but I like to hear what the guys that do, think about it all.

  3. Rossi summed up one of the problems with Ducati best when asked if part of the problem was Stoner's inability to set the bike up.

Hopefully Rossi will be back to winning ways and make the competition at the front more exciting - I think we all want that.

  4. By all accounts, away from the media circus, Stoner is a really nice quiet family man.

  5. The thing is, Stoner doesn't "tell it like it is" Some of the things he has said over the years are completely at odds with other comments he made on the same subject either just before or after.
Ducati didn't listen to him when he asked for changes and yet all you need to do apparently is get on the thing and ride it the way it needs to be ridden.

  6. Hmm, I"m not sure it's ever that black and white is it? He's proven that you can get on it, ride it and win. That doesn't mean it couldn't be improved or set up more to Stoner's style. It is also true to say that Ducati didn't listen to him when he asked for changes so both statements are true.

IMO, Stoner does say it how it is.

  7. I dont think it is often that black and white either. The thing is black today is white tomorrow when you read some of the contradictory things Casey says. The example above may not have been the best illustration.

As for just being honest, No, he is playing the same games and every comment has a context. Sometimes he does it well and sometimes his silence function fails him. No different to Vale , but Vale is just a little better at the delivery.

  8. Can't agree with that. He's just not the type of guy who plays games like that. I don't think he really tries to drive the media around with his own agenda, he simply answers their questions and gets the hell out of there because he doesn't like it.

  9. One of the reasons i refuse to buy the comic MCN!!

Hi Damo, Don't post up links to made up bullshit from Birty the Bullshit from mcn!

Repsol Honda Team’s Casey Stoner stated that the Indianapolis circuit should suit him and his team, and was also quick to clarify statements in the press about comments he supposedly made about Rossi’s switch this week: "I want to clarify that. That was a lot of context taken out. It was the whole last year and a half. I never did the interview and never said anything like that last week. I still stand by what I said, but it's been over the last year and a half that it was put together."

    Also
VR has released that He or JB never stated The crap MCN printed about them having a pop at Stoner and the set up stuff and the fix it in...............................

Looks to me like VR and CS are winding up MCN and making them look fools in the race circles!

  10. Why are you complaining at Valentino and Jerrys Quotes being re printed? I thought that was part of being a media darling was all about...... Until you get proven wrong and they bite you on the ars.

Enjoying Jorges latest comment about Vale not being a threat and wishing Casey would go back to Ducati. Good to see the man gives respect where it is due

  11. I don't think there is a media friendly way of depicting someone as a cnt. If that's what you think and that's what you want to say that is how it will come out. Casey is pissed at the treatment he got from Ducati, Marlboro and Rossi, and is not shy about saying so. Good on him

  12. You read that in the mcn ? must be true

  13. Watched the Practice on live streaming Today and Casey is not happy with Birty Bullshit from mcn!
If i was Casey i would fire them/him a law suite!

Motomatters are a reliable source as they don't need to sell toilet paper every wednesday

  14. I'll read their memoirs to get the truth...

  15. What the last two years when Rossi and Burger set up the Ducati to win umpteen races "because they could" . perleese

  16. Anyhow I digress .
How much development will Rossi put into the Desmo now and will it help.

  17. None and it wont make any difference. IMO Ducati should take a huge step backwards and start with the frame etc that Stoner was running on. I know the engines are now bigger, but now after Rossi imput its a hybrid Ducyamhona thing and they have lost that central core position that they based all their designs on. Due to his time on the bike, the best person to help could be Hayden. I really want to see the Ducati up front again and if it takes a few seasons more, then sobeit

  18. Absolutely pointless unless they use the same tyres. Which they ain't. It's the tyres that flattered Stoner.

  19. Spot on Mate!
Last year the tyre was biased towards the honda and CS walked it!
This year the tyre has change biased towards the yamaha and CS is 3rd in the championship.

Ducati can't build a bike to get heat in the control front tyre.

  20. I thought I was quoting crash.net?

More to the point does it matter? I mean I'm pretty sure I see multiple quotes being spouted about on here and a lot of them are even 'my mate told me' or 'this racers wife's hairdresser said'

Its all bollocks mate, I don't give a shit deep down.

You like Rossi and I like stoner...... It's ok, I still like ya..... Stoners still fastest but I like ya all the same ;)
