Are pool tables ever slate?

I have only ever played on pub tables except as a spotty youf at the Youth club.

I bet with all the pub closures there’s some very cheap tables in a warehouse somewhere

First question is - who is pressurising you and are they in charge?

This sounds more like bullying to me.

 

Try to get them into bar football or air hockey?

 

You need to ensure your space is big enough, add 6ft (3 ft each side) as a minimum to each table dimension.
There is nothing worse then not being able to get on a shot due to lack of room.

 

That was my experience when I had one, certain shots had to be taken with the short cue due to wall complications
I don’t remember it having a slate base but it did double up as a dining table, of sorts.
It was great fun holding drunk, late night tournaments.

Sod the pool table mate, get some more motorbikes bought and get them in the house!!

 

But... If you do, the pool table might be a great place to display it!
