  1. Yup. Standard fair after stay in ICU is a head shrink for PTSD.

  2. Scars heal, eventually you forget the pain to some degree, and the desire to ride never leaves you, it consumes you, it's worse than any addiction and it's as much fun as you can have with your clothes on, it NEVER gets boring, that's why we all still ride, or at least that's why I still ride and will continue to do so for as long as I am physically able to...

  3. Sorry to hear this and I hope you continue to recover.

I had a long break from biking but went back to it in my 40’s. Had my bike less than a month when I hit something in the road and crashed it. Knocked out, broken collarbone, ribs, toe and thumb. Luckily I only spent 2 days in hospital before I escaped. My insurance company offered me a choice of either a new bike or about £2k less than I paid for it. Despite telling my wife what a selfish prick I’d been and how sorry I was I took the new bike.

I’ve really enjoyed my subsequent biking life and made some great friends.

I do think if I had another accident now, especially if it was a serious one, then (as I’m in my late 60’s) I probably wouldn’t get back on a bike, but each to their own.
