Taking the clutch apart is dead easy...just lay it out in order....i think torque values are 9nm for the plate bolts and 100nm for the central clutch nut (although when Rich at Lougi showed me he just gave it a good yank and said "that'll do!)....youll need a holding tool before you even start though....cheap but a good investment...
A torque wrench is a sound investment...spend as much as you can - i follow a lad with an RSV4 factory on you tube and he uses an electronic snap on torque wrench with a row of LED's that light up as it comes up to torque...thats my next purchase i think....
when it comes to tools, i got them, al be it not the holding tool but ill get one. 100mn for the bolt i dont need to undo is fine. more the nuts that i think stick through the basket were my worry
I've the dp dry slipper clutch in my sport classic it's an 848 kit in ncr magnesium cases anyhows it groans on fast take off . I replaced all the plates and cleaned and regreased and still bloody groans....... I just live with it. Apart from groaning it behaves itself and enjoyed a bloody good knee down thrashing lol.
Just do the bolts up really gently. There's a risk of them stripping the aluminium thread and the springs will stop them coming loose, so a gentle nipping up is all that's required.
Btw, I too have used the lithium grease mod but I baked mine. Works a treat, no groaning and silky smooth
yeh 9-10mn is a slight push, till it hits the first grip on the thread, [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] really appreciate it
I rebuilt the clutch on my z1000 the other day after a clutch mod.....9nm was the torque setting in the manual....i was just going from that....
