Just found this on eBay - never had to remove said gear myself but have read a few horror stories about its reluctance to remove itself... Ducati Primary Gear Puller-Part No. 887132092 | eBay
I took my stripped out bottom end (Ooer!) to a local backstreet garage after I had broken my puller trying to get the thing off, I think that they only charged me £10. Probably the way to go again.
Hydraulic puller? Hectic... There is no happy average with a Doocat, it will either fall off of its own accord when you dont want it to or you have to beat it off with Big Hammers.
Isn't that the truth! Apparently the guy at the garage said that he had to heat it up, before applying a hydraulic puller, and it went with a huge bang! Still, about 5000 miles after the engine rebuild, and its managed to stay put without further issues. Didn't have any hammers big enough to pull that off!
