Admirable but if you land face first at 50 or 60 clicks you’re going to need more than anti abrasion outfits and air bags (obviously). No one’s ever died from road rash.
Nothing is going to save my face if I were to land on it at 50+ kph. However, I have yet to land on my face, whereas an airbag would have saved me from hospital. I’m far from a professional rider—merely an amateur age-group racer. But in my experience of crashing, I’d much prefer to avoid road rash. I have Armaurto bib shorts and find the impact protection and abrasion-resistance unnoticeable while riding.
