Back to form today I won’t spoil it for this who havent seen it yet but you can fast forward to the intermediate sprint with 30k to go (which was a bit weird). Enjoy.
I don’t want to speak too soon but I think the Jockos have a potential superstar in Oscar Onley. Won a mountain stage at the tour de suisse last month and only a handful of riders still within a minute of Pogi and Jonas after 4 days. Wearing the young riders jersey today.
Bookies have Remco as clear favourite for today’s 33km TT. Not sure I’m that confident he’s had a brutal few days including a crash.
Im an idiot he’s not the Olympic champion for nothing. Having said that you could have picked up a few quid e/w on Plapp and Affini
Check out 70th in the second stage of the tour of Austria. Minute and half down on Del Toro is ridiculously impressive!!
The Irish will be celebrating in France tonight. Amazing stage and thoroughly deserved winner. I remember his win at the giro a couple of years ago and couldn’t work out why he hadn’t won more since. Chapeau (for the first time this year).
Watched more of the Netflix documentary. I can see why Phillipsen wasn’t happy. I hate the stupid made up voice over commentary and the twat of a ‘consultant’ as well as the forced jeopardy of the sponsors being unhappy and pulling the plug if the teams don’t win. As long as they get plenty of Tv coverage they shouldn’t care if they lose out on a win. Anyway, enjoyed the sprinter’s episode with Cav (even though not everyone likes him).
I like the jersey to be honest, I know I'm in the minority with that statement. But as always you can only wear a champions jersey if you won it outright.
Hincapie not happy, American used out of place? Armstrong watches usually calm Hincapie blow up on podcast: "Are they trying to sabotage his chances of winning?"
Quite. Out on a clubrun a few years back and Emma Pooley's sister was there. A bloke rocked up in a world champion's jersey and sister says "My sister has one of those". Bloke says "Where did she get hers from?" Sister says "She won it....."
I didn't wear t shirts and other branding from when I did do the odd sporting event. The only pro cyclist I know had a display in his shop of some of his cycling history. Out of everything on display his Blue Peter badge drew the most gasps of being impressed. I'm fairly sure he had some sort of Olympic medal in there too.
