V4 Project V4s Unica

  1. Apologies to all those craving for an update. I received very short notice I was to be undertaking a new type rating course in Malaysia for six weeks and not set to return to the UK until mid February, so work will start in earnest after that, though it will still have to fit in around two trips to Milan as part of the training schedule, so it may well be March at the earliest before anything really starts to happen.

  3. WARNING! PICTURE HEAVY.

Since it's been a while and seeing as I did promise an update or two (and for those of you not wishing to venture over to Facebook to see it's progress), here's a few pictures to wet your appetite. I am also due to pick up the front frame and swing arm later today, after the bearings, spacers, seals and races were refitted, following Cerakoting. There are a lot more photos on the project page as well as details on each stage, so if you are interested, feel free to take a look. Before anyone asks me, and for those that already have, any project is a purely subjective thing, so whilst it may seem OTT to many, it's just my peculiar approach to building a bike how I want it to be, even if that means going to these extremes........Topo :D

  10. Just finished an initial type rating course (9 weeks) onto another helicopter. To maximise resources, some of us are being dual rated, so I'm currently flying two different types, namely the H175 and AW139. Sounds like fun but its twice the work and twice as many trips to the simulator each year (4 in total or 2 every six months).

  11. Living the dream mate, I'd love to have that day job :)

  12. Loving this:upyeah:

  14. Front frame and swingarm back from the Cerakoters, colour matched to the magnesium engine castings. Pictures include the newly Cerakoted rocker link and coolant bridging pipe. These should both be back on the bike by the end of the weekend with the aim being to have a rolling chassis by Sunday. As always more details can be found on the project page plus a myriad of images.

  15. Fabulous!

  16. Looks tremendous. Are you fitting a DP swingarm protector??

  17. Not sure yet MH. I rather like the idea of the colour being exposed, so we will see. The end goal is something along these lines that I photoshopped many months ago, though the actual paintwork may vary and is the very last thing on my mind. For now the priority is to get the project to a rolling chassis stage, as we are moving house soon, which is making the logistics of this project a bit tricky, notwithstanding the fact that we have to build a new garage as well.
