Pronunciation

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by bradders, Feb 17, 2022.

  1. Not pronunciation as such but grammar. I would like to add:-

The phrase “so fun”. As in “Did you have a good time?” “Yes, it was so fun.” Arrrrgh.

When ordering something, “Can I get …”.
I insist on my kids asking, “Please may I have…..”.

  4. Ha ha, my work Colleague is from Wigan (he pronounces it Wigern) he was having a new coach delivered? Coach? What, a 52 seater? Nooa coach, you nooa a settee!!

  5. You went to 'skool'. That's why it's 'skedule'. From the Latin. Same reason it's 'brusketta', not 'brushetta'. The British middle class people you hear on Google/Wiki pronunciations are just paid voice actors and don't know (plus it's a middle class affectation, too, much the same as 'Barth' and 'You and I').
