It would be useful to know how to get back to that option screen or how to get rid of this nasty malware altogether.
No idea On both phones I have, when I went to access the forum, I got the Quantcast screen blocking access
Click see vendors, click reject all. Save But clearly some of you have thousands of cookie trackers. And you wonder why the internet is under attack by corporations...some website (singular) literally try to force upto 300 cookies onto peoples computers.
It happens here too, both on iPhone and Mac but only the first time the site is accessed each day, even if I don't log off between using the Forum. I just assumed the site was becoming GDPR compliant and had added in that annoying 'accept cookies' message that appears on every single web site visited nowadays.
Thanks for that , it really helps to narrow down exactly what the trigger is , so that time isn't wasted watching logs where it isn't going to appear anyway. It's become the sand under my foreskin now , so I can't leave it alone . ( .....Hmm , I probably could have picked a better metaphor for that , or phrased it a little better , but it's written now .... ) I have a policy that nobody and nothing enters my house without my permission , and I apply the same to my computers , and other tech stuff .... ..... call me old-fashioned if you will ....
Hopefully to save you some more time. I did the following: Picked up my phone this morning, went to Safari (it was already running in the background) opened the DF page (one of several tabs open) and up it pops (yes I was logged in). Clicked accept and off it went. Logged onto my Mac this morning, went to Safari (already open and running), went to the DF tab (logged in from yesterday) and it pops up. Saw this thread and read it. Closed the DF tab and then opened a new tab and went to DF, no pop up but no request to log in either, just straight in. Logged out of DF, closed Safari, restarted safari, open tabs automatically reload, DF reloaded no pop-up. Im going to try one more thing BRB.
Cleared all caches and cookies, logged out of DF, quit safari, then reloaded and opened a new tab for DF. The page pops up. Rather than blindly clicking 'Accept All' I clicked the 'show purposes' link. OMG I am giving them 'access to any and all information stored on this computer' I am also giving 'access to any and all information stored on this computer' to any third party vendor Quant cast want to sell the information to. ANY and ALL information stored on my computer not just my browsing history. I selected 'reject all' In future I will be looking a lot more closely at these annoying GDPR compliant pop ups.
Close Safari (fully) Settings - Safari - Clear history and website data. Reopen Safari - ducatiforum, get popup, choose options, save, log in, happy days.
Just trying to help @oldtech but I have to admit to being gobsmacked at what they are taking and getting permission to take if the 'Accept All' button is clicked.
BINGO ! That's what I saw , and what started my " dummy spitting " episode . In attempting to narrow the field , I was going to ask that you close the forum tab , close the browser , and clear down the cache etc .... but you beat me to it ! Now that we can force it to happen I can probably find and watch the " phone home " behaviour when it kicks in , ..... and hopefully follow the trail of breadcrumbs ....
This is a nightmare. I've just had to reset CHROME back to default.... It changed my search to YAHOO, but when I went to settings it was showing Google..... Any searches turned YAHOO on... even when I was in GOOGLE.... ...WTF Why is the Ducati forum forcing this on us? We already pay subs to avoid seeing adverts... is it not enough.... do you also want our first born?
Cool yer heels pard ...... There's absolutely no evidence that Ducatiforum , it's owners or admins have anything at all to do with this . And I'm now pretty sure that it's not coming from Xenforo either ...... [ Note that Xenforo is the software "platform " that this and many other top quality forums run on ... I didn't make that clear enough in my earlier posts ]
Hi all, This is the advertising GDPR compliance thing that I had to add. It's from the advertising network that is used to display ads. I'm going to investigate it a bit more... Rob.
Ok, it should now not ever use that pop up for subscribers. Subscribers should not see any adverts or be subject to that popup (as there will be no need, no ads served to you, cookies or anything added). Let me know if you have any cases of ads being displayed (screenshot would help) and I will fit it. Thanks,Rob.
