  2. Yep same in all gears (if the question is re the super light)

Fair do Andy, as for I SELL, I don't sell anything I don't want to sell mate and if I thought it were rubbish I'd say so :) As for the HM and me people are free to buy it where they like ** :D

  3. with my ecu you can set the kill time 1-2 or 2-3 needs to be longer than 4-5 5-6........power and gear ratios dictate that...

  4. My HM one is awesome :)

  5. note to OP on your nemesis ecu i think you were looking at the centre port which is for downloading uploading maps.....a quick shifter fits into the bikes DIAG port on its loom....

  6. @andyb On the Nemesis TCS unit I fitted, there are two free ports. One is to attach the USB interface to upload the mapping and set parameters, such as QS kill time... The other is an input for the QS...

This is an over-the-winter project; once `i've got back into the black after my summer fun... So no rush....So if I can fit a nice auto tension system in, which the HM SS seems to be, into that spare port, then that might be the easies option. Seems that as the HM SS comes as a complete system, I might be double rigging to a degree, if I fit the whole HM system... But I'll do that if I have to... peace of mind to a degree

I'll have a look at the setup tomorrow to see what my options are, with regard to Nemesis TCS allowing different cut for each gear. Of the top of my head I think it might be just one setting for all gears...

  7. I think Andy thinks you have the ECU and not the TC. ;) afaik the TC will let you take an input from any third party shifter, none of the HM have an output to trigger another device to cut the ignition, they have blipper outputs on the GP but that's all, the HM SS is stand alone as I say, it connects to the coil packs and cut the ignition from there, you'd need too check with Nemesis to be sure this does not cause a problem with the Ducati, I know it's ok with Honda.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  8. Isthe TC useful on an 848? Been toying with one for my gixer but never found 848 really needed it. Is it not intrusive?

  9. I've only used it one one track day, with was a chrono day with FE at Donington... so got good timing results a week later.

Dough at competition systems is a really helpful bloke. He suggested I start off on level 9, just to know its working, then keep stepping down till I get to the right level... halfway round first sighting lap I knocked it down to 8 as it was unridable, just as Dough had suggested...

At the end of the second or third session I had wound it down to level 1.

Now to answer your question ! ;-)

Even at level 1, I can feel it engage on every lap; but not every corner. I don't see this as being intrusive; as I'm now trusting the technology and using the throttle like an on / off switch. If I don't feel it cut in, then I give it more welly next time round... I love it and wished I'd done it before; and glad that I went for a more expensive Traction Control System; rather than a cheaper "Anti High Side" System...

On my fourth session I equalled my Donington PB, and was looking forward to more sessions before heavy rain stopped play, as I knew I had more to give, and was getting into the zone...

For this track day my rear tyre was as worn as hell, so i might have to wind it back to level 3-5 now I've fitted a new rear. I haven't played around with the custom mapping options yet, and probably won't, but all parameters can be tuned to get a custom map; if indeed you felt it to intrude too much...

After going from the 748 to the 848, I did't like the new bike; and never got into the zone as I had on the 748. Nemesis TCS has changed that, and now I love it... Shame it probably won't get another ride out till next year now...

My only gripe is the selection of maps available for the 848. I was running on Metzler Race Tecs; but there is no map for them on the 848, so instead put in a map for Corsas... Not sure what would happen if I loaded a 1098 RaceTec map. I'll give competition systems a call before I do... Big thumbs up to them; excellent after sales service so far...

  10. N-8050 - Reverse Shifter for Ducati

The N-8050 reverse quick shifter has been designed to offer a number of significant improvements over any other ‘switch type’ shifter.

    • Load adjustment: Switch pre-load can be adjusted by means of the screw

    • Vertical adjustment: The eccentric adjuster can be rotated up to 180° and then locked in position; this will raise or lower the rear of the shifter by up to 26mm.

    • Front / back adjustment - There are 2 tapped holes in the rear arm giving 9mm of front to back adjustment to the free spinning knurled aluminium tube.

Sealed switch - The principal part of any shifter is the switch so we have chosen an extremely reliable ‘mil spec’ waterproof switch in an easy to service position on the upper face. Servicing is improved further with every component part of the shifter being available as a separate item to reduce the cost of crash damage.

Wiring - The switch wiring is made from Raychem type 55 wire and DR sleeving to remove any possibility of damage due to wear or heat. We have also used the same 3 way AMP Superseal connector as before so that the shifter plugs directly into the ‘DIAG’ port of a stock loom for immediate ‘plug n play’ compatibility with Nemesis.

    2 wiring versions are available.

    • The N-8050/A has the 700mm extension cable to the three way AMP Superseal connector.
    • The N-8050/B has the same 700mm extension cable but also an additional in-line Deutsch Micro connector which enables quick removal of the shifter assembly without the need to remove body panels.

  11. Glad its working for you Bob. I would have thought with a new tyre, way more grip, you may turn it off rather than up.

I may just bite the bullet and get one, as I have struggled a little with getting the throttle open early as I like as I'm a little worried about so much power and how the gixer spins up so quick. Or I could just learn to ride it properly rather than a novice

  12. The system plugs into the rear wheel sensor, then you add a sensor to the front wheel. Slip is measured by difference in wheel rotation. Therefore, as the rear wares more than the front, and therefore rotates more, this is read as possible slip; especially when over on the side of the tyre; therefore you have to dial out some of the effect...

I'm glad I went for a good system, so no need to upgrade in the future... A bit like the HS SS QS options; might be expensive, but the get the peace of mind that it's about as good as it gets...

Don't see many (or any) second hand nemesis TCS up for sale, which is a bit of a statement... (bit like not seeing many second hand 899s...)

    Bob

  13. Yep, 6 results for 899; 35 for 1199...

  14. But second hand nemesis TC's can be got.......................:D

  15. Have a Translogic QS on my 749 - very pleased with it so far!

  16. @arthurbikemad
I'm now looking to start tweaking the bike for this year, so want to revisit the QS issue. Can I pse ask your opinion of the HM Superlite Quickshifter; considerably cheaper than the HM Quickshifter Plus units; so what gives? Seeing the Superlite on eThief for £240, whereas Quickshifter Plus is over £400?

Also, can you provide, and what price?

    Many thanks,

    Bob

  17. non adjustable bottom of the range jobbie - is it race or road configuration?

    HM Quickshifter Super Lite
The New HM Quickshifter Super Lite. This little unit packs a punch, there are no control units to set up or wonder where to place on your bike, all you need is this little linkage to experience the thrill of HM Quickshifter.

This might be at the bottom of the range, but nothing has been compromised with regards to quality – this awesome quickshifter still far and away outperforms any other non HM quickshifter.
