Well we agree. I still change gearing mainly because I have yet to sustain top speed for longer then 5 min at a time before something came up.

 

Been flat stick on evo, all lights blazing, and been past like I was stood still by a beemer. Telemetry showing 168, clocks a bit more optimistic ;-)

I've maxed out every bike I've ever owned (apart from the Guzzi - that would be cruel), believe me, every speedo lies, especially Italian ones...

 

I mean I yet to do flat out on long period. Few minutes stints at a time Yes but after that there is always a tighter bend, car, other bike.....

 

Get a 600. Its flat everywhere all the time then

 

I don't think I've ever ran a bike flat out in Blighty for more than a few seconds, it just isn't possible round these parts. Which is why I love big, simple v-twins; they work brilliantly in the 60-100mph zone that is more typical of my usual riding.

 

I noticed 695 is ridden at higher throttle but I still see no way of doing full throttle/top speed for long.

 

Come for a ride with me in the summer. We'll have it flat for at least 5 minutes ;-)
