So as the new v4r with racing exhaust got these numbers quoted, i got to thinking...really?

When has any new ducati ever been 165 dry weight and what would its real weight be with fluids and a half tank of fuel?
When has the power been really what they said?

    So

    Weight power power/weight ratio

    165 234 1.42
    180wet 234 1.3

    180wet 225 1.25

    My bike
    152 wet 190 1.25

just saying, lies dam lies and statistics!

  2. SL2 was 165 with oil wasn’t it? 215hp with exhaust?

  3. I mean really 165 not just them saying..

    Weight 174 dry power 214 = 1.2

  5. All manufacturers use figures which are questionable, it's a product which they are trying to sell to the public, BHP has always meant brochure horse power, no one would ever run any bike dry without fluids but it will be fast to most folks with limited experience and ability even with lights and other road based bits.

  6. Same as it ever was...

  7. Power to weight means fuck all as soon as some fat bastard cocks his leg over it to wobble to his bike meet for a bacon butty.

  8. Not that Ducati have ever inflated figures

  9. Pretty sure it wa measured at 172 with fluids and fuel. Bear in mind that’s all road gear...

  10. Apparently , bmw tested are very close, like a couple of bhp, to their stated figure. Not like the dvt with 160 that barely makes 130 on any dyno this side of Coventry.. ;)

  11. Bollox. It all counts ;)

  12. People are obsessed with top end BHP but the reality is that very rarely do most actually ride at those revs, Its all about the midrange especially the torque which your bike will excel at. BMW are the masters of quoting figures which the ECU really wont deliver in lower gears ( I know that you've bought one BTW ) . I've had ride outs with you when you had an ST4 many years ago and I rest my case.

  13. Is this a thread so you can boast about your bike?

  14. @andyb is that JHPbhp on your bike??

  15. As above

The BMW’s are renowned for having the strongest stock motors (up until now potentially)

  16. just numbers..

  17. Seems an awful lot of hassle to come second to a Kawasaki ;)

  18. Was telling a non-riding colleague today: 35k on the bike, plus another 15k probably on race stuff and it still likely won't beat a 15k kawasaki out if the box :punch:

  19. i agree with you Bradders 100%
The problem i have is i love Ducatis lol only the sport bike range only (R)
If i wanted a ultra fast bike on the road or track i would NOT buy Ducati.
I would buy a Kawasaki for £15K or something else VERY FAST.
But for me its more than speed for me its looks.
And for some reasons in my eyes that italian mob lol seem to get it right with there cars.shoes, women, clothes, perfume, bags,
So thats what draws me towards Ducati.
Do i think they are worth the money 100% NO lol.
Do i think you can buy cheaper bikes that are faster 100% YES.
But they just don't push my buttons lol
