I remembered someone had a bike with the plate "RYD" so looked through my pics. This used to be Dave's and he sold it to another mate. It was a bog standard A10 Super Rocket. One day this mate and I investigated the (non-matching) numbers. The Super Rocket prefix was DA10 and they were both that, but the engine was earlier than the frame. The Super Rocket was what Eddie Dow used for the Rocket Gold Star. The frame was within the range but the engine preceded it. And either the later Super Rocket was hotter or Eddie Dow breathed on it - anyway just because it was a Super Rocket engine didn't make it a Rocket Gold Star; but this mate convinced himself it was. And put ace bars on it (but not rear sets), short reverse cone megas, and a Spitfire (or possibly Starfire) tank. One evening he came round my place, got pissed, left the bike in the back garden and walked home. Overnight it snowed. Next day he came round for it and thought he'd take a picture of and have it made into a Christmas card. I suggested putting decorations on it (it looked better in real life). So we flung tinsel and holly on it, and at least 2 Santas (and put decorations on the bare bones of the previous years tree that was apparently still in my back garden), and he took this picture and that was the card he gave everyone that year. If we'd been tripping he'd have rode it, so we must have got pissed.
